No change in hardware. Been working fine for 2 years. All previous 'fixes' via DOS (BOOTREC /FIXMBR, BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD, etc.) didn't work. Maybe because I'm not comfortable working within DOS and did something wrong. Since I can see all Windows 7 files from C: (XP) is there an easier way to do this bypassing DOS? Fix: Boorec /Fixboot Element Not Found on Windows 10. If the issue is with your Computer or a Laptop you should try using Reimage Plus which can scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files. Successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 1 1 D: Windows Add installation to boot list? Yes/No/All: Press Y and you should see the “The operation completed successfully” message meaning that the BCD rebuild is complete. Restart your computer and check to see if you are able to boot normally.
